Now that roads into K Country have been re-opened, the Friends of Kananaskis Country are expecting requests from the trail crews for volunteers to help rebuild damaged trails and bridge streams. Volunteers will work under the direction of Alberta Parks trail crews. With so much to do and conditions still dangerous e.g. unstable river banks, Alberta Parks’ trail crews are retaining tight control on the crews and their respective jobs. It is the trail crews that will provide leadership in the rebuilding process.

The Friends of Kananaskis Country is co-ordinating the volunteer drive. Members of hiking clubs are encouraged to contact Mike Shragge with the Friends of Kananaskis at trails@kananaskis.org. Individuals who wish to help out can sign up on-line at kananaskis.org/subscribe.
