Rick Young, Director and Treasurer of AHA (see Report on Airdrie workshop), and Bertha Ford, Director of the AHA (see Report on Red Deer mtg) attended day-long workshops on the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (SSRP) in Airdrie on November 20, 2013, and in Red Deer the week of 25 November. The South Saskatchewan Region comprises the southernmost part of the province, an area of 84,000 square kms (larger than the Province of New Brunswick), and is home to 45 percent of the population of Alberta. The Airdrie and Red Deer workshops were only two of many being held in over 20 locations in the province until 28 November.

Input from all stakeholders is welcomed via the workshops as well as online and printed Workbooks until 15 January 2014. To review the draft plan, go to www.landuse.alberta.ca and follow the links.
