In September 2012, the volunteer Bighorn Backcountry Standing Committee wrote the Premier, Alison Redford, expressing its concern for the lack of enforcement in the Bighorn backcountry. Read the Committee’s letter that requests a response from the government that assures Albertans that the government will properly enforce non-OHV use in the Bighorn backcountry.

Four months later, in January 2013, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development responded to say that AESRD is working with other government departments to increase the effectiveness of its enforcement on vacant public lands. Click here to read the government’s response letter.
