After this summer’s devastating floods, trails and bridges in K-Country need to be repaired and/or rebuilt. Alberta Parks is organizing a day (Thursday 17 October) when volunteers can help its crews protect a bridge by helping to build gabion walls on the Fox Creek Trail. Strong backs are needed to gather rocks and place them in metal mesh cages. Too, working in or near the creek means that volunteers might get their feet wet.
To volunteer for this project, register by emailing trails@kananaskis.org. Please type “Fox Creek, Oct. 17” in the subject line. Details of the meeting time and place will be emailed to you in a confirmation letter. Or, if you wish, telephone 403-678-5593.
